Ruth’s Patio (near corner of S. Mill Ave. and E. Southern Ave.), Tempe AZ

Learn about an Afghan refugee family relocating to Tempe, and brainstorm ideas about how to help them.

If you are into cold water swimming, the pool will be open too. So feel free to bring a swim suit and towel. But the pool's most recent temperature was only 74 degrees. Maybe it will be warmer by May 4th?

Event hosted by Ruth, a great member of the neighborhood group who has hosted fantastic events in the past. She previously hosted "Meet the Hungarian Delegates Potluck Dinner" (13 Feb 2023) and a Socratic Potluck and Pool Party (1 Jul 2023) at which we discussed multi-generational housing arrangements and local water shortage issues.

There will be 3 friendly dogs running about and indoors upstairs two cats. (This info is for people with allergies or other issues with animals.)

What to Bring: Guests may bring any type of food. Enough to feed about 8 to 10 people. Bring a main dish, salad, side dish, bread, etc. (No desserts, please. We already have enough desserts.) Hosts will provide drinks, plates, utensils, etc.

Location: The location is a private home. Ruth's home is near the corner of S. Mill Ave. and E. Southern Ave. The actual address will be provided to those who RSVP to attend the event.
