Christian Science churches have been holding Thanksgiving Day services for over 130 years.
The First Church of Christ Scientist at 1824 E Loma Vista Drive in Tempe (where we held November's big Neighborhood Potluck dinner on Saturday, Nov. 11), will be holding its annual service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023 at 10:00 am. The service will last about one hour. There is ample free parking and free child care.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Note that this is a traditional Thanksgiving-themed church service. This is not a potluck event. There is no meal associated with this event. This event was not organized by the Neighborhood Potluck Group, but some key organizers of the group will be in attendance. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Tempe is a vital part of our community, and has already hosted two potluck events in 2023 co-organized with the Neighborhood Potluck Group.
What to wear? Many in attendance will be wearing "Sunday attire," and many will be dressed casually. The weather may be cool, but this is an entirely indoor event.
