What? Anybody interested in providing service, or anyone interested in meeting neighbors in an air-conditioned setting, is invited to help set up for the funeral of Beverly Wilson. We will be setting up tables and chairs for the funeral and family luncheon. We will also do some vacuuming and cleaning glass doors.

Short Activity: Based on how long this has taken in the past, it is likely that this will take no more than 30 minutes.

Who? Anyone may come to this service activity: Men, women. All ages. People who knew Beverly Wilson and people who did not.

What to Bring? You do not need to bring anything!

What to Wear? Come as you are. This set-up service activity takes place the evening BEFORE the funeral. You do not need to dress up.

Background: Beverly Wilson was born on December 11, 1930. She was the matriarch of the Wilson family. She lived in Tempe for decades and was loved by all who knew her.

Many people knew Beverly, and many people know her son Greg Wilson and daughter-in-law Lucky Wilson, who are community leaders. Lucky is the elected co-chair of the Alameda Meadows Neighborhood Association (alongside fellow co-chair Anne Till). Local filmmaker Aaron Wilson is Beverly Wilson's grandson. The Wilsons are long-time members of the neighborhood potluck group. They have helped organize and hos neighborhood events.

When is the funeral? The viewing will take place at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8. The funeral services are open to the public.
