Free event.

National Ice Cream Day is one of America's greatest holidays. Started in 1984 by President Reagan, the holiday occurs every third Sunday in July.

The Papago Buttes Church of the Brethren is hosting a potluck lunch this year to celebrate this holiday. Pastor Jon tells us that this denomination has an unparalleled fondness for ice cream. The congregation and the neighborhood potluck group are joining forces to organize this potluck lunch and ice cream celebration.

Pastor Jon:

Who? Everyone is welcome! All ages. Family friendly event.

What? Eat great food and delicious ice cream, talk with friends you already know and meet new friends and neighbors.

What to Bring? Guests may bring any type of food. Enough to feed about 8 people. Bring a main dish, salad, side dish, etc. Hosts will provide ice cream, toppings, drinks, plates, utensils, etc.

May I bring ice cream? The hosts are providing plenty of ice cream and toppings. But if you would like to bring ice cream or toppings, feel free to do so.

Will there be a church service, program or presentation as part of this event? No. But we might have a short ice cream trivia challenge.

Do I need to be a member of this congregation or denomination, or a member of the neighborhood potluck group in order to attend? No. Everyone is welcome!

Location for the potluck lunch/ice cream event:

What should I wear? This is a casual indoor event. Feel free to wear anything from Sunday attire to T-shirt and jeans.
