David organized this event to mark the film's 30th anniversary. He wrote:
Great indy movie that was a total box office flop. Probably as it was way ahead of its time.
The events take place in L.A., several South American countries, Germany, Greece and coming to a chaotic end amid a great ancient civilization in Cairo, Egypt.
The eccentric foreign characters are totally relatable to any expats and international travelers. Some of them had great lines, best described as memorable with a zing.
Plot:
After her businessman husband dies suspiciously in a Mexican plane crash, his widow begins to investigate his labyrinthine financial dealings, not all of which are legal.
Where? We will gather in the luxurious private theater on the main level of the Emerson Building (where the host lives). This theater can accommodate watching the movie on a very large screen while also eating a full potluck dinner.
What to Bring: Guests may bring any type of food. Enough to feed about 8 people. Bring a main dish, salad, side dish, dessert, etc. Hosts will provide drinks, plates, utensils, etc.
Parking: Plenty of parking is available underneath the building, for $2/hour. Also, this event takes place on Sunday, so parking on the street around the building is free. Also, the location is easily reached by light rail, bus, shuttle.
