If you are interested in receiving invites to service activities, be sure to join this sub-group.
Our goal for the Service Activities sub-group is to develop it to be well-organized with regular activities, with invites sent only to those who are interested in participating.
Members of the service activities sub-group will be encouraged to invite the sub-group to help them with activities that help THEM, whether it be part of a community organization, charitable organization, church, synagogue, or even something at their home.
This is meant to be something DIFFERENT from service organizations such as Joe Forte's excellent "Keep Tempe Beautiful" organization, which focuses on cleanup of outdoor spaces, especially public parks.
Our goal with this sub-group is foster regular opportunities for those interested to get together providing meaningful service, focusing on activities group members suggest. This is a way to get to know one's neighbors, with activities that are not focused on eating food.
This is all still in the formative stages. Anyone interested in helping shape the Service Activities sub-group is welcome to share ideas.
