Come meet four first-term members of Parliament from Hungary who are visiting Phoenix as part of a program sponsored by the Congressional Office of International Leadership. Show them a warm AZ welcome and learn a little about their country!
Three of the Hungarians are Roma (Gypsy), a minority ethnic group; the fourth represents one of the poorest districts in Budapest. They are here to learn more about open and transparent government with a focus on learning how to get their constituents more involved in civic action.
Who? Everyone is welcome.
Will I have a chance to talk to the delegates and ask them questions? Yes! And they may want to ask YOU questions as well.
Along with meeting attendees individually, the delegates will present a brief presentation and will also take questions from the group.
What Should I Bring? This is a free event. But guests will bring a dish to share. Enough for 8 to 10 people. Main dish, dessert, salad, side dish, hors d oeuvres, etc. Food only. The hosts will provide plates, utensils, drinks, etc.
What should I wear? This is not a formal event. Nobody will be wearing tuxedos. If you want to dress up nicely, that would be great. But this is best classified as "semi-casual." The event will be entirely indoors.
