What: Tracy leads the Armchair Adventure Book Club. At the May book club meeting (Wednesday, May 28), we will be discussing Flowers of the Killer Moon, a nonfiction book written by David Grann. Attendees may read the book OR watch the movie (or both). About the movie: "Flowers of the Killer Moon" is an epic anti-Western crime drama film produced and directed by Martin Scorsese. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, it focuses on a series of murders of Osage members and relations in the Osage Nation after oil was discovered on tribal land. The tribal members had retained mineral rights on their reservation, but a corrupt local political boss sought to steal the wealth. Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone lead an ensemble cast, also including Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser.
Anyone can come to the watch party, even if they aren't planning to go to the book club meeting. And anyone who wants to go to the book club meeting can watch the movie OR read the book (or both) on their own, without going to this watch party.
Note that this event is not a potluck dinner. The event is NOT planned as a dinner. But the host will provide pizza, popcorn and drinks. Guests are welcome to bring any type of food or snack they want to share. This is completely optional.
