Toastmasters International was founded in 1924 and now has 364,000 members in 145 countries around the world. You probably know people who belong to Toastmasters clubs. The organization is dedicated to helping people improve their public speaking and leadership abilities. People also find fun and friendship in Toastmasters!
The Twilite Toastmasters Club is full of witty and diverse members who want to be involved in the community.
If you come to this open house event, you will learn more about the club. This will be a traditional Twilite Toastmasters meeting, with two speakers, two evaluators and other functionaries. Speeches are 7-minutes in length. The topics are typically personal and humorous. Guests will NOT be required to speak or do anything other than observe. But guests are typically given an opportunity to introduce themselves and also participate in "Table Topics," which are short (1 to 2 minutes) impromptu speaking opportunities in answer to a question or prompt.
The Twilite Club meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. 1st and 3rd Wednesday meetings are held at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center in Tempe. 5th Wednesday meetings are social events at locations that vary.
