Every year, communities across Tempe gather for Getting Arizonans Involved in Neighborhoods (GAIN) night. Whether it's a potluck, Halloween festivity, or lawn game extravaganza, your neighborhood is encouraged to plan a community event that fits you best. Whatever you do, the City of Tempe is here to support you! This year's GAIN night is set for Saturday, Oct. 19. Official hours: 3-7 p.m.
Important information for GAIN party registration:
Your neighborhood party must be registered with Tempe Neighborhood Services by Sept. 30: Register your event:

You're invited to the GAIN kick-off and registration party on Sept. 3 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Road, Desert Willow Room. This is your opportunity to register your party, discuss details with city staff, get tips for party planning and leave with giveaways and informational material. Party visits from police and fire will be raffled off – don't miss it!
What is G.A.I.N night?
G.A.I.N is an annual community-building campaign that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Getting to know your neighbor is an important step towards staying safe. Those who know and care about each other are aware of work and travel schedules, and can watch each others homes. Neighbors who enjoy good relationships are more comfortable reporting crime and suspicious activity to the police, and are more likely to work together to keep a great quality of life in their neighborhood.
