Dr. Robert "Bob" Rhoton hosts a weekly Bible study group.
Who is invited: Anyone interested in studying the Bible alongside neighbors of various religious backgrounds. At these meetings we regularly have people in attendance from various religious backgrounds (or none) including Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc.
Bob Rhoton is the Founder of Arizona Trauma Institute. He trains professionals in the medical, education, and mental health fields to work with complex trauma. He has been invited to give presentations on the topic of trauma and mental health in many local churches.
Bob is also a avid student of the Bible. These are great opportunities to study the Bible as friends and neighbors.
Bob will lead the group in reading passages from the Bible and discussing topics that guests can relate directly to their lives. Will there also be discussion of psychology and neuro-science? Well... if meetings are like previous Bible discussions at Bob's place, the answer is: yes. These are NOT psychology lectures! But Bob is who is, and it is natural that his background plays a part in the discussion, just as the backgrounds of all who attend play a part in discussions.
Do I need read anything or do anything to prepare? No. The discussion is based on passages that are read together at the meeting itself.
This group meets every Thursday at 7 PM.
