Farha (2021) is a historical drama film about a Palestinian girl's coming-of-age experience during the Nakba, the 1948 displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.
What? Watch party and potluck dinner. We will watch "Farha" while eating. After watching the movie, guests are welcome to stay and discuss it. During the movie we can pause for breaks, or for brief discussion or questions. But mainly we will watch the movie straight through and we will not talk over the movie.

What to Bring? Please bring a dish to share. Food only: main dish, side dish, salad, hors d'oeuvres, bread, etc. Please do not bring desserts or drinks, as these will be provided by the host. Guests are encouraged to bring halal food.
Farha was written and directed by Darin J. Sallam - her first feature-length film. Sallam's own family also fled from Palestine to Jordan in 1948. The film is based on a true story recounted to Sallam's mother by a friend, living as a refugee in Syria, about her experience during the Nakba.
The film stars Karam Taher, Ashraf Barhom, Ali Suliman and Tala Gammoh.
