Michael Simm is a great neighbor and one of the leading members of the neighborhood potluck group. As founder and CEO of the Logical Foundation, he has organized and hosted five events in the past.
The Logical Foundation's goal is to eradicate homelessness in Tempe and beyond. The Foundation researches basic income approaches to solving his vexing problem.
On 10 May 2024, The Logical Foundation presented the neighborhood group's anchor event for May: "The Logical Foundation’s Basic Income Launch & Learn." The event raised over $8000, which the Foundation used to conduct a pilot project, providing direct cash payments to people in Tempe experiencing homelessness. The Foundation tracked the impact this had on their lives as they struggle to get off the streets.
At this new event on September 22, Michael will present the results of the pilot project and lead a discussion about how to eliminate homelessness in our community.
This event is planned as a conversation more than a presentation. Those who attend will be encouraged to ask questions, provide feedback, make suggestions, etc. Michael welcomes everyone regardless of their position on these topics. The conversation is intended to be productive and lead to positive action.
The Logical Foundation values research-supported, fact-based approaches to eliminating homelessness. Skepticism is welcome.
What to Bring? You do not need to bring anything. Refreshments and drinks will be provided. Optional: Guests are welcome to bring additional snacks, refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, etc. to share. Food items only. In addition to providing initial refreshments, the hosts will provide all plates, napkins, utensils, drinking glasses, and drinks.
