Ten People. One Table. Fascinating Questions.
Location: This event will take place at the Emerson building, where the hosts live, in one of the conference rooms in the downstairs commons area. Indoors. Air conditioned. Free event.
Join us for a Socratic potluck! This is a limited seating event, so if you plan to attend, be sure to RSVP before space runs out. Guests at this event will sit around a single table, to eat dinner and discuss pre-announced thought-provoking questions.
The Topics: The topics for this evening's discussion are FOMO and YOLO. "Fear of Missing Out" and "You Only Live Once." Two relatively recent acronyms that we encounter online and in modern life. Are these good or bad things? How do do these affect our lives? The hosts have selected fascinating questions about topics which affect us all but which have rarely been examined closely.
What Should I Bring? This is a free event. But guests will bring a dish to share. Enough for 8 to 10 people. Main dish, dessert, salad, side dish, hors d oeuvres, etc. Food only. The hosts will provide plates, utensils, beverages (soft drinks and water), etc.
Parking: Plenty of parking is available underneath the building, for $2/hour. Details about parking are here: https://potluckdinner.org/venues/emerson_parking/
Also: Because this event takes place on a Sunday, you may park FOR FREE at meters anywhere around the building.
