Two Questions. Two Separate Round Tables. And a Pool!
The location is at the private home of one of the neighborhood group's most active participants. Ruth would love to have you attend whether you already know her or not. The exact address will be provided to those who RSVP yes.
Join us for our next Socratic potluck! This will be a limited seating event, so if you want to attend, RSVP soon, before space runs out. All guests at this event will sit around two separate table, to eat and discuss pre-announced thought-provoking questions. The tables are separated enough that the acoustics work out.
This Event's Questions (provided by the host):
1. In many parts of the world, multi-generational homes/housing or compounds are the norm. Should we work toward this model in Tempe? Why or why not? If so, how?
2. Arizona has set aside a down payment for a desalinization plant near Rocky Point, in the Sea of Cortes. Is this the solution to Arizona’s water shortages? Or are there other ways to make sure there is enough water for the state to continue to thrive?
Note that this is planned as a Socratic Potluck (dinner and a discussion) AND a pool party. After dinner and discussion, guests are encouraged to enjoy the pool.
What to Bring: Free event. Guests may bring any type of food. Enough to feed about 10 people. Bring a main dish, salad, side dish, dessert, etc. Please specify what you plan to bring when you RSVP, so that others who RSVP can see what foods are on the list, and so that we can have a more balanced meal.
Also bring: A swimsuit and a towel.
People of ALL shapes and sizes will feel comfortable getting in the pool, and are welcome to wear a swim shirt, T-shirt, full body suit, etc., for protection from the sun and comfort.
Three friendly dogs: The host wants guests to be aware that three friendly dogs will be out and about in the yard and patio area. In case anyone has allergies or is uncomfortable around dogs.
