One Question. Two Round Tables. And a Pool!
The location is at the private home of two of the neighborhood group's most active participants. Clark and Kathy would love to have you attend whether you already know them or not.Join us for our next Socratic potluck! This will be a limited seating event, so if you want to attend, RSVP soon, before space runs out. All guests at this event will sit around a single table, to eat and discuss one thought-provoking question/topic.
This Event's Question:
(Provided by the host.) If a specific neighborhood in your town was particularly run-down, what measures would you suggest to revitalize and re-gentrify the neighborhood? Your ideas can include both public (government) and private actions.
Note that this is planned as a Socratic Potluck (dinner and a discussion) AND a pool party. The host told me that if people don't get in the pool after dinner, they might be "helped" into the pool. Then he said he was "kidding." (But was he??)
What to Bring: Free event. Guests may bring any type of food. Enough to feed about 8 people. Bring a main dish, salad, side dish, dessert, etc. Because this will be a smaller event, please be sure to specify what you plan to bring when you RSVP, so that others who RSVP can see what foods are on the list, and so that we can have a more balanced meal.
Also bring: A swimsuit and a towel.
People of ALL shapes and sizes will feel comfortable getting in the pool, and are welcome to wear a swim shirt, T-shirt, full body suit, etc., for protection from the sun and comfort.
Who? Everyone is welcome. But RSVP required. All ages. Children are welcome, and will not count toward the limit. (If you plan to bring children, please let us know so that we can set up a separate table for children who would be bored by the discussion.)
