What: We are going to get together to eat spicy Thai food. And whatever other food guests bring. As simple as that.
The host is providing spicy Thai food. Enough for everybody who RSVPs. (Plus water and soft drinks.) Everything the host provides will be "Thai-spicy." Not mild, medium, or hot. But "Thai-spicy." (Which means MORE spicy than "hot".)
Free event.
What to Bring: Guests are not required to bring anything. But if you want to bring something, you may bring ANY type of food. May bring a main dish, salad, side dish, dessert, etc. It does not need to be spicy. It does not need to be Thai food.
Is "Thai spicy" actually TOO spicy for most Americans to eat? Yes.
H.M. Queen's Birthday: H.M. Queen's Birthday on June 3 is a day to celebrate the birth of the Queen of Thailand, Queen Suthida. The day was deemed a public holiday with schools and most businesses closed, allowing them to join in the celebrations. Thailand honors its royal family well and so for the queen’s birthday, citizens wave the country’s flag and pictures of her all over. The most beautiful celebrations are held on Ratchadamnoen Avenue in Bangkok, and on the streets near the king’s palace.
