What: Tracy leads the Armchair Adventure Book Club. At the July book club meeting (Wednesday, July 29), we will be discussing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the famous comedic science fiction novel written by Douglas Adams. Attendees may read the book OR watch the 1981 TV series OR watch the movie (or do more than one). The 2005 feature film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was directed by Garth Jennings. The film stars Martin Freeman, Sam Rockwell, Yasiin Bey (credited as Mos Def), Zooey Deschanel, Bill Nighy, Anna Chancellor, and John Malkovich, and the voices of Stephen Fry, Helen Mirren, Richard Griffiths, Thomas Lennon, Ian McNeice, and Alan Rickman.
Anyone can come to the watch party, even if they aren't planning to go to the book club meeting. And anyone who wants to go to the book club meeting can watch the movie OR read the book (or both) on their own, without going to this watch party.
Note that this event is not a potluck dinner. Guests are welcome to bring any type of food or snack they want to share. This is completely optional.
